Pinehurst Golf Experience
Where Golf's History Meets Southern Soul
For over 125 years, Pinehurst has celebrated the game of golf. Today, the courses, hotels, restaurants, and country club stand ready to host all those who love the sport. Donald Ross, designer of the famed course No. 2, once said, “Golf is meant to be a pleasure, not a penance.” We couldn’t agree more.

The Cradle and Pinehurst No. 10 are walking only courses. There are carts available on the No. 4 and No. 2 Courses. Push carts are available at all courses. Push carts are available on a first come first serve basis at each golf course
Caddies are available, but are NOT RESERVED. To reserve a caddie, please reach out at 803-508-0803 or email travel@landandlinks.com
We highly encourage guests to utilize a caddie on Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4, as they are cart path only. Many golfers enjoy forecaddies on other Pinehurst courses, allowing them to ride in a cart still enjoying the normal caddie services.
In an effort to promote pace of play as well as the safety and health of our caddies, golfers should travel with a single strap carry bag weighing less than 24 pounds. If your bag does not meet these requirements, you may be asked to use a provided change-out bag.
Caddie fees are paid upon registration at the golf shop. Rates are as follows:
Double Bag Caddie: $80 per player
Forecaddie: $40 per player
(We recommend a $60 gratuity per bag for walking caddies and $35 per bag for forecaddies.) -

Accommodations
The Holly Inn
Pinehurst’s very first hotel, The Holly Inn has welcomed guests since 1895. It is situated in the heart of the Village, offering easy access to everything just steps from its iconic striped entrance.
The architecture here is part Queen Anne revival and part Arts & Crafts, but the overall effect is pure Pinehurst. Fine touches adorn every guest room, from the Tiffany lamps illuminating the space to the antique bar that once dwelled in Scotland but now welcomes thirsty patrons in our Tavern. You can also visit the pool for a more intimate, quiet space for sunning and relaxing.
This truly unique property has engendered much affection over its century-plus lifespan, and we’re sure you’ll love it as well.

Courses
The Cradle
“The Most Fun 10 Acres In Golf”
On the land where the first holes at Pinehurst were carved lies the 789-yard short course.
Pinehurst No. 2
The centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst No. 2 remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses. It has served as the site of more single golf championships than any course in America and hosted back-to-back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships for the first time in 2014. It was also the home of the U.S. Open in 2024.
As the first U.S. Open Anchor Site, the championship will return to Pinehurst in 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047.
Pinehurst No. 4
Gil Hanse’s redesign of Pinehurst No. 4 is a bold expression of pure, timeless Carolinas Sandhills golf. Visually stunning from tee to green, exposed sand areas, vast cross bunkers and native wire grass meld with the site’s rolling topography and natural ridge lines to create dramatic vistas and strategic options on every hole.
Less than a year after reopening in 2018, No. 4 joined famed No. 2 as the site of the 2019 U.S. Amateur.
Pinehurst No. 10
No. 10 is Pinehurst’s first new course in nearly three decades, but in truth it’s been centuries, even millennia, in the making.
The landscape underlying Tom Doak’s new design features native wiregrass, sweeping landscape and rolling hills formed by geology.
Midway through the course, it also takes advantage of rugged dunes carved out by mining operations around the turn of the 20th Century.
The result is a spectacular course with 75 feet of elevation change that winds its way through the Sandhills on a path toward delivering a golf experience like no other.
Pinehurst No. 8
Opened in 1996 to commemorate Pinehurst’s centennial, Tom Fazio designed No. 8, synthesizing all the elements of the Pinehurst golf experience into one layout. Fazio took full advantage of the 420 acres of rolling terrain and natural wetlands to fashion a course that’s visually enthralling and challenging, yet fun to play.
Carolina Room
The Carolina Room is a casual venue that serves fantastic seasonal offerings and unique Lowcountry cuisine. The Culinary Team creates inspiring dishes using the freshest local and sustainable ingredients. At The Carolina Room, expect a dining experience that celebrates the flavors of the Lowcountry and promotes wellness through mindful eating.
Dining
The Tavern
Bring yourself to The Tavern, a stately dining establishment featuring an antique bar that was brought over from the birthplace of golf—Scotland itself. A menu of unique salads, sandwiches and soups is available to satiate one at lunch, while evenings bring a heartier choice of pastas, beef and other entrees. Complimentary homemade chips are the ideal salty companion to your choice of beverage, so don’t forget to ask for them whether you’re pulled up to the bar inside or taking in the outstanding views of the Village from beneath the strings of lights on the outdoor patio.
The Deuce
Overlooking the historic 18th hole of Pinehurst No. 2, The Deuce features indoor and outdoor dining in a relaxed setting. Some might call it the best 19th hole in golf and the perfect place to end your round.Voted the “Best New Restaurant in Golf ” by Golf Inc Magazine, The Deuce serves delicious pub fare while the bar features a variety of creative cocktails and nearly a dozen craft beers on tap, including North Carolina microbrews.
The 1895 Grille
Whether it’s breakfast or dinner you seek, you’ll find it in its most exceptional form at the 1895 Grille located in the historic Holly Inn. The talented chefs in this fine dining establishment transform ingredients brought straight from Carolina Farms to their kitchen into award-winning fare day after day. Nightly specials assure a unique experience on each visit, though no one will blame you for ordering the triple chocolate soufflé at the end of each dinner here.
Pinehurst Brewing Company
Located in a historic steam mill, Pinehurst Brewing Company is a local favorite. Unique and refreshing beers are brewed on site and rotate frequently.
